Melissa Oluwarotimi Adeyemo

Producer

Melissa is currently producing content in New York.  She has produced the short film Open Wounds, an Official Entry to the 2015 Dubai International Film Festival and Still Water Runs Deep, an Official Entry to the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. She is currently in post production on her first feature film, Eyimofe, shot on 16MM in Nigeria, as well as the short film, A Cemetery of Doves and A White Wedding. She also produces commercials and branded content, including the short film for fashion line, A Peace Treaty, now distributed on Vogue.com. She has worked as the Unit Production Manager on the web series Unicornland.  

 

Melissa has over ten years of experience in the media and entertainment space. She most recently worked for the National Black Theatre and the Technology, Media and Telecommunications group for Strategy&.  Prior to business school, she helped build out ROK Studios for iROKOtv, a Lagos based media and technology start-up. She worked on the production team of their first film & television projects including Festac Town, Hazeezat, Stolen Waters and Raging Passion.

 

Melissa graduated with an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business on a full merit scholarship. There she supplemented her practical experience with coursework in entertainment, media and technology and entrepreneurship, in order to help firms successfully navigate the shifting terrain of the international media space.

As a Nigerian American film producer, Ominira represents the dream I stopped deferring - to help propel the voices of those who too often go unheard in our global society using mediums that are too difficult for one to ignore.
