Still Waters Run Deep

Within a small Nigerian family, the father is the patriarch and protector of his flock. Still Water Runs Deep tells the intimate story of a man whose concealed emotions begin to stir when faced with the portent of a missing one. 

 

The film is written and directed by Abbesi Akhamie, a recent MFA graduate of NYU Tisch.  The film has been received well extremely well, as it premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2017.  Since then, the film has shown at Clermont Ferrand, The Palm Springs Film Festival and AFRIFF Film Festival.
